About Me

I was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and spent eight years of my childhood in Shanghai, China. I am fluent in English, Chinese, Cantonese, and proficient in the Malay Language. Currently, I am a Junior at Purdue University majoring in Computer Science with a concentration in Machine Intelligence. In my Sophomore year, I had an IT internship with Accenture Malaysia supporting the client's IT infrastructure by handling software and hardware implementation tickets, bridging communications between onsite engineers and vendors. Over the internship, I have gained valuable soft skills experience and expanded my knowledge of IT. Moving forward, my goal for Summer 2021 is to have a software engineering internship to expand my skillsets, bring value to a company, and gain more professional work experiences.

January 2020 - Present

Spring 2020 was my first semester at Purdue. Being an international transfer student, I did not have the privilege to choose Computer Science (CS) as my major due to the department's capacity restrictions. Therefore, I transferred in with the major of my second choice - Mathematics. I had the burning desire to get into the CS department because I knew just how important technology is to me and to humanity, and I viewed CS as a gateway for me to enter this promising field. Eventually, with the help and encouragement from professors, advisors, and friends, alongside with the hours of hard work that I have put in, I managed to make CS as my primary major without forgoing Maths.

Accenture Malaysia

Information Technology Infrastructure Intern

September 2019 - December 2019

I was honored to experience life as an IT consultant offered by Accenture Malaysia. Unlike most internships where interns would work together as a team, I was assigned to a team of full-time employees. My main role in this position was to take on IT infrastructure implementation/modification request tickets, and to ensure the workflow tasks are being completed by assigning and updating my team with the requirements. During my time at this internship, I have learned a lot about professionalism and the client-first mindset. From exercising precise communications to drafting the perfect PowerPoint slideshows to resolving conflicts between vendors and internal business partners. My work ethic has totally transformed into the Accenture standard.

B.S. Computer Science. GPA: 3.60 / 4.00 (Transferred out)

Sunway University has offered me the chance to experience American education without leaving my home country. While studying at Sunway, I had the opportunity to become my Computer Science professor's research assistant. The research was to find the optimal way to teach a beginner programming. It was a fun experience as I had the pleasure to assemble, code, and test up to 15 Arduino Robots with my professor and friends to prepare for the coding workshop.
